Description

Cisco compatible 1000BASE-CWDM GBIC 1550 nm transceiver module, for coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM). A hot-swappable transceiver module, which allows changing between Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) compatible modules without having to remove the system power. The CWDM GBIC solution is a cost effective solution for implementing Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel in campus, data centre, and other area access networks. CWDM technology allows the signals from multiple CWDM transceiver modules to be combined into a single signal across the same cable. Each wavelength carries different data, and therefore reduces the need for multiple physical fiber optic cables. There are 8 wavelengths available in the CWDM GBIC series, from 1470 nm - 1610 nm.
