Description: Gunpowder green tea takes its name from the appearance of its leaves which is similar to that of gunpowder beans, this shape "traps" their aroma and releases it when the small, green balls start to unfold in the hot water. The green tea leaves when wrapped like that are less prone to natural damage and breakage, allowing them to retain more of their flavor and aroma. To prevent oxidation of the green tea leaves, the leaves are either lightly roasted or steamed.
