Savory has lilac tubular flowers which bloom in the northern hemisphere in spring and summer. It grows to around 30 to 60 cm (0.98 to 1.97 ft) in height and has very slender, bronze-green leaves. The aromas are reminiscent of oregano and thyme. Savory is one of the favorite plants of the ancient Greeks and has been used in cooking for more than 2,000 years, while they used to flavor thyme wine with this herb.
