Directions

Soak pearl barley overnight in water. Rinse and drain. In a pot, combine soaked barley with fresh water (about 3 parts water to 1 part barley). Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 45-60 minutes until tender. Drain any excess water before using in recipes.
