Organic Zambian Forest Honey This honey is from rural beekeepers in NW Zambia, who Wainwright's have been working with since 1983. Wild bees occupy traditional bark hives and forage on the many nectar producing species found in this Miombo forest. The honey they produce is a richly flavoured, smokey and aromatic. The honey is cold pressed so more of the natural pollen remains, producing a unique, earthy flavour. The honey business supports the livelihoods of thousands of rural, isolated beekeepers providing a reliable and steady income. Now that young people know that they can make a good living from beekeeping, there are more hives and more bees to pollinate the trees ensuring the continued vitality of the forest. Winner of a 3-star Great Taste Award, 2018. This product is Fairly Traded. 380g jars of either set or clear honey.
