Steenbergs Organic Coriander Seeds - or dhania - are one of the core organic spices for any kitchen cupboard. When ripe the seeds of the coriander herb have a distinctive sweet citrus-minty-musty aroma. Steenbergs organic coriander seeds slightly lemony flavour combines particularly well with ginger. Use Steenbergs organic coriander seeds to season foods that cook for longer than an hour, such as roasts or for curries. Coriander spice is really versatile and used in loads of different types of cuisine from sweet through to savoury. Toasting organic coriander seeds accentuates the citrus notes, plus adds a certain nuttiness to their character. Coriander seeds are really useful and flexible spices that are very forgiving - you cannot really use too much coriander, while it blends well with other spices, seeming to draw together flavours into a more perfect whole - Ian Hemphill calls this characteristic "amalgamating".
